Why most Indian diets fail

  • Refined wheat (maida) instead of whole grain
  • Naked carbs — roti with just sabzi, no protein
  • Wrong timing — heaviest carbs at dinner
  • No fat — fat-free diets spike hunger and hormones

The roti-friendly fat loss plate

  • 1–2 rotis of jowar, bajra, ragi or whole wheat with ghee
  • 1 katori protein — dal, sprouts, paneer, chicken, fish, eggs
  • 1 bowl cooked sabzi
  • 1 plate raw salad with lemon
  • 1 small bowl curd or buttermilk

Timing rules

  • Biggest meal: lunch (12–2 pm)
  • Lightest meal: dinner (7–8 pm), low-carb
  • No grazing — 3 meals, 1 snack max
  • 12-hour overnight fast
